How To Develop The Mindset Of Abundance

What is the mindset of abundance?

 

What comes to your mind when you hear that a celebrity (especially when you don’t like the celebrity) just bought a piece of jewelry worth a fortune?

If what comes to your mind is that he/she wasted money, then you have a scarcity mindset.

Because it should have crossed your mind that someone who bought such jewelry should be able to afford multiple pieces of jewelry.

And by the way, jewelry is also a form of investment.

The mindset of abundance is believing that there is enough to go around for everyone. “Enough” can mean wealth, happiness, promotion, and other things.

“Abundant mindset” was first introduced by Steven Covey in his best-selling book, “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”

And has been popularized by several thought leaders across the globe. In fact, any successful and rich person you know today operates with an abundant mindset.

To build an abundant mindset, follow these steps:

Pay attention to your thoughts:

The first step to building an abundant mindset is paying attention to your thoughts.

I know you’ve probably heard this statement: “Your inner world creates your outer world.”

And that is the truth. You live your life twice. First, in your mindset, and second, in real life. So, you must pay attention to your thoughts because the issues of life flow from them.

A good way to know what you are thinking is to check how you feel.

Once you are feeling bad, it means you are not thinking about something good. Track what you are thinking and know exactly what it is.

Debunk your limiting beliefs:

 Now, after you’ve started tracking your thoughts, start noticing the negative thought pattern. Or as I call it, “limiting beliefs.”

Observe them and start debunking them. Because if you don’t, they will become a blockade for you to enjoy a plentiful and abundant life.

Adopt empowering beliefs:

In neuroscience, one of the best ways to override a habit is to build a new one. This new pattern, when done persistently, will override the old one.

So, how do you get rid of limiting beliefs?

Create empowering beliefs and think about them.

Anytime you notice that you’ve started thinking about these limiting beliefs, change them to the empowering beliefs you created.

Keep doing this intentionally and it will become a habit.

Affirmations:

The word “affirmation” is derived from two words: “affirm” and “action.”

Affirmations are words you say consistently about the reality you want to see. And of course, it should be backed up with actions.

One of the most effective ways to imprint these empowering beliefs in your mind is to repeat them over and over.

As Paul Wealth once said, “The law of repetition is the law of retention and lasting impression.”

And this is possible through affirmations. Keep saying it till it becomes your reality.

Create an abundant life:

You can do all the aforementioned steps and still not live an abundant life.

Earlier on, I talked about backing up your affirmations with actions. You do this by setting practical financial (and whatever else) goals and plans of action.

When you do this, you create your abundant life intentionally.

 

Gratitude:

As Tony Robbins usually says, “What is right is available and so is what is wrong.”

But you have a choice. You can focus on what is right or what is wrong.

If you focus on what is wrong, you’ll keep getting what is wrong. But if you focus on what is right, you can turn around your situation for good—you will keep attracting what is good.

One of the best ways to do this is by being grateful. Thank God for everything you have now. Keep doing it till it becomes a habit.

Surround yourself with people that have the mindset of abundance:

Have you ever heard people say, “When you walk with five wise men, you’ll become the sixth wise person”?

The Bible also supports this in Proverbs 3:20, which says, “He who walks with wise men shall be wise…”

In the same way, learn to walk with people that are already in the reality you want to be in. Learn to walk with people that are already living the life you desire. Learn to walk with people that have an abundant mindset.

That way, your energy adjusts to the frequency of their energy, and you start to see abundance (everywhere), just the way they see it. By doing so, you become the sixth most abundant person.

Now, as you can see, these steps build on each other. Apply everything in your life and see your life transform for good.
