But, some people who are not well aware of the healthy ways to cope with stress using wrong mechanisms end up making it more severe for themselves.

Stress, if not deal with the right methods, can increase the risk of depression and anxiety, asthma, obesity, heart disease, cancer, and more. So, people must know the harmful ways they think are healthy to reduce stress.

There is no doubt; eating can provide relief from a stressful situation. But, comfort eating and overeating can be dangerous to our health and physique. It can lead to guilt and shame, weight gain, obesity and health-related illnesses. Maintaining a balanced diet will help you to reduce stress and keep you physically fit.

Withdrawing from loved ones:

Parting your ways and keeping isolated yourself from loved ones can negatively affect your mood and outlook, increasing stress. Your family members and friends are your best supporter. They assist you and help in the hard times. So, spending time with your loved ones not only make your day but also help reduce stress and anxiety.

Sleeping too much:

Well, sleeping too much can provide a distraction from the issue temporarily, but the problem remains on walking. Moreover, long naps can interfere with sleep at night, or more sleep can interfere with work, school and important tasks. Healthy Adults needs to take at least 8 hours of sleep a day; however, increase the amount of sleep to relieve stress can be dangerous to your health.

Increasing screen time:

Whether increasing screen time and frequently watching the news and social media feeds can grow stress levels. Excessive screen time and browsing social media can burst your mind with negative news, which will further affect your mind and increase stress. For Adults, It is recommended to watch screens for about 2 hours a day.

Counting on alcohol and smoking relief:

Increase in the consumption of alcohol and smoking whenever we’re running from stress and anxiety has negative impacts. Smoking and drinking alcohol in excessive amount can offer temporary oblivion that we think as bliss to fight stress. But in reality, its reflex reduces the brain’s cognitive efficiency and induces unhealthy fat and cholesterol in the bloodstream.
