The Power Of Consistency

When we understand the power of consistency, we can use this great value to our advantage. And with the power of consistency, we are entirely dedicated to carrying out an activity and completing a task. Moreover, the power of consistency makes you want to accomplish a goal and take all the necessary steps to see its completion.

But… here is something I am slowly learning: If you do not keep engaging on the task you want to complete, you will not be able to finish the goal. As life quickly flies by, you will start wishing you had started today.

What Is Consistency?

The Power of consistency has numerous definitions and meaning , however consistency can be defined  as the steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form, etc. In addition, it is the degree of firmness of constitution or character.

“People like consistency. Whether it’s a store or a restaurant, they want to come in and see what you are famous for.” – Millard Drexler

“Rome was not built in a day.” But there were laying bricks every hour and that’s the power of consistency. There is quite a lot to think about and a lot to be said in that proverb.

Consistency Works

When I started writing articles related to Personal Growth, productivity, and leadership, I started on a clean slate. And by staying consistent in writing a few articles a week, I kept the momentum I needed. If your dreams seem too big, why don’t you start eating the elephant one bite at a time?

The simple discipline of writing every week has helped me be consistent in my writing journey. Staying consistent will make you expand, but it will inspire other people who look up to you for inspiration to start.

Consistency Will Make You Better

Odds are you are not where you dream of. You are not the best version of yourself. You still need time to put the work into polish your talents and God-given skills.

Consistency will make you incredible. Consistency makes you better.

For instance, I have lately picked up swimming lessons. I am not a fan of the sport, and I am not a lover of water anyway!

But I have been practicing consistently and I have been doing about five laps per session, every week – muscle cramps at night! I have had to swim through fatigue and feeling of not worth my time.

I have recently noticed that after a swim, the stress I had before going for the dip all goes away. My body feels light and at peace. You should try floating on the water for a few minutes, oh, divine, I tell you.

I am not the best swimmer in the world, but consistency will make you better.

5 Tips To Develop Consistency

below are tips on how to develop consistency.

Make use of your spare time:

We all have a few hours of the day to spare. Learn how to use the time wisely and tackle your goal even if it is just for half an hour. That is enough.

Start small:

You do not have to take drastic measures to accomplish your goal; just start with small steps. You will find yourself at the finish line even with a short jog, and we do not all have to run to the finish line.

Take a break:

Do not beat yourself up when you get off track. It is okay to be distracted on the goal, rather than punching your hand in the wall. Take a stroll to the park or even better, take a nap!

Create a schedule:

Have something or someone that will keep you accountable. Creating reminders, vision boards, and planners are a great way to keep you on track.

Celebrate small wins:

Celebrate all the milestones you achieve to motivate you to push on to the next step.

In Conclusion

Decide on your goal, create a plan, and commit to putting time and effort to it. Then add consistency to it, and as you move down the road towards your goal, it will be easier to stay on course. Most people in the world knock on the door of their dreams and quickly run away before anyone has a chance to step up and open the door. But if you keep knocking on the door persistently, eventually someone will open.
Never Give Up!
