GIVE- The Secret of Giving

Do you find yourself caught up in working towards your personal goals that the joy of giving may be diminished in your life? Always remember there are people out there who are homeless, thirsty, and starving and the little you have left can go a long way to bring food on their table.

If you are a believer, then you must be familiar with this passage. ‘Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you use it will be measured back to you’ And remember, no matter your current financial situation, you can always give something.

Attributes Of Giving

Giving is the transfer of something without the expectation of receiving something in return. But lets take a look at the attributes of giving below:

Giving inspires others to give.

Most people who have learned the art of giving are people who have been on the receiving end of kindness and are in the process of paying it forward and giving to others even when they barely have enough to pass around. The cycle of giving makes the world a better place.

If you can’t feed a hundred people, then just feed one.- Mother Teresa

It teaches morality.

Be a role model for people around you, especially the younger generation who have much learning to do in regards to giving. When you give you have to make sacrifices. The urge to give to good causes should not suppress your wants.

A great place to start is to watch your spending habits, or learning to be frugal for some time. You will notice that you do not need an expensive life to be happy.

It makes you happy.

Giving is a great feel good booster. The internal feeling that you are helping others is empowering and in turn it makes you feel more fulfilled and happier. Making a monthly or annual donation increases the brain activities towards pleasure. Just as the adage, it really is far to give than to receive.

If you are a Christian, you can start with tithing to your local church. If you do not attend church, find a good organization or charity to support. Give whatever you can and give it happily!

It is about your heart.

It helps others.

If you are blessed with the reasonable comfortable way of life(meaning if you are capable of reading this), means you are able to give.

The world can be a lonely and hard pressing place to live in, and those who have nothing, depend on the loving- kindness and generosity of well-wishers’.

The value of a man resides in what he gives and not what he is capable of receiving- Albert Einstein

It is Easy to give.

Did you know that there are various ways of giving? You can give your time, you can give your friendship and warmth, you can give materially, and you can give a listening ear or a shoulder to learn on.

Whatever you decide to give, remember you can always give something.

Giving will open up blessings. I believe this to be true, it is Biblical, you will be more blessed financially if you give. But most importantly once you are financially free you can give so much more.

Conclusion

Giving to a cause not only benefits others, it can be deeply rewarding for you too. Millions of people give to charity, because of the positive effect it has to others and their own lives.

Giving is a blessing and you should encourage it! Even if you are not filthy rich, start giving now!
